Emilia was a student in the first group in the world to gain a university degree in teaching the Pilates method and she graduated with Distinction in 2001 (University of Technology, Sydney).

She first began learning the Pilates method in 1993 while undergoing three years of full time training to become a ballet dancer. During that time she gained Distinction in her RAD ballet teaching certificate and later went to London to continue her dancing career. Although injuries brought an end to this dream, Emilia continued her Pilates. 

Emilia opened her first Pilates studio in Mosman, Sydney in 2002 and subsequently opened a second Sydney studio. She attained the highest level of membership with the Australian Pilates Method Association as a Level 4 Practitioner.

After selling both studios, she moved to the UK to start a family and now has two school age children.
